Dear GLP community, Among all the news that we are bringing to you this month, we are glad to announce our new report: GLP Report No.7: Incorporating human behaviour and decision making processes in land use and climate system models. This report was based on the results of the IGBP/IHDP Global Land Project (GLP) and CSIRO workshop “Linking models of human behaviour and decision making processes with land system models” held at Lake Crackenback in Australia on November 28-December 1, 2011. Its aim was to explore ideas for analysing alternative development pathways under global change by addressing explicitly decision making structures within global assessments. Such ideas are intended to help develop Earth system models in the future that better incorporate human processes by moving away from the traditional top-down strategies of Integrated assessment models (IAMs) and instead exploring the role of human behavior and decisional models such as agent-based models (ABMs), and how these might link to dynamic global vegetation models (DGVMs). Hope you enjoy! GLP IPO
