The College of Natural Resources at the University of Idaho is recruiting an assistant or associate professor focusing on Fire Ecology and Management in support of the Fire Ecology and Management program, Forestry, and Rangeland Conservation programs, and other undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Forest, Rangeland and Fire Sciences, and College of Natural Resources. The tenure track position and faculty member will support University of Idaho’s Land Grant mission with teaching and advising (45%), scholarship (40%), outreach and Extension (10%) and University Service (5%). The faculty member will conduct research related to fire ecology, with an emphasis on the ecological effects of fire, and the implications for long term health and sustainability of key ecosystem goods and services from fire prone ecosystems. The faculty member will publish in peer reviewed journals, present findings to scientists and managers at professional conferences, and actively seek external competitive funding to support this research. The faculty member will work collaboratively within the department, college and university, as well as with external stakeholders (e.g., government and nongovernmental organizations, other universities, and industries). In these and other ways, the faculty member will develop and maintain a nationally recognized research and outreach program.
